The Uhlyk bus shelter offers passengers a comfortable and cosy space while waiting for their bus. Thanks to its thoughtful design and well-sealed walls, it provides effective protection against wind and adverse weather. The glass panels give the shelter an airy feel and allow for a clear view of approaching services. Furthermore, the combination of glass and wood creates a pleasant space that blends naturally into its surroundings.

  • Steel modular construction manufactured in two- or three-module segments, with a module width of 1.4 m. Linear design assembled in segments. The basic frame of the shelter is made of 70x70 mm steel box sections. 3 mm thick steel panel brackets ensure maximum sealing of the shelter. The rear wall is tilted backwards by 5 degrees from the vertical plane and is at a right angle to the roof. The roof is drained via a central reinforcing box section above the surface. The structure meets the requirements for installation in snow load zone 6. Seals made of durable EPDM rubber and stainless steel fasteners. Rear vertical panels: 8 mm thick toughened safety glass or 24 mm thick spruce tongue-and-groove boards. Side vertical panels: 8 mm thick toughened safety glass. Product features

Excellent protection against the elements

Gaps between the panels and the structure are minimised and sealed, reducing draughts and rain ingress. An integrated gutter and downpipe prevent water splashing from the shelter roof.

Split panels save money

The glass panels in the Uhlyk waiting area are split in two, so if one breaks, only the damaged section needs to be replaced.

The advantage of anchoring to existing concrete footings

If you are replacing an old bus shelter with a new one, the Uhlyk shelter offers the advantage of being installed onto the existing concrete footings. If the footings are still in good condition, there is no need to spend money on pouring new ones. The spacing of the footings must be sufficient to accommodate the size of the Uhlyk shelter. If the spacing is smaller, we can adjust the dimensions of the shelter to fit the required width.

‍

Lighting

The Uhlyk waiting shelter can be fitted with LED lighting.

Structural safety certification for the shelter

The UHLYK shelter features a robust steel frame, making it suitable for installation in areas with very harsh weather conditions. It is structurally certified for snow load zone 6.

Safe infill panels

8 mm toughened safety glass – this thickness is highly resistant to breakage, and should it break, it shatters into small, blunt fragments.

Edit

Most of our products are made from acacia wood, which is highly durable and requires no regular maintenance. The wood can be left untreated and allowed to weather to a natural grey finish.

If you decide to apply a finish to the wood, you will increase its protection against dirt and grease and extend its lifespan. However, you should be prepared for regular, usually annual, maintenance. This is not complicated – simply sand the surface lightly, clean it, and apply a new coat with a brush.

If you want to avoid regular maintenance, we recommend leaving the wood untreated. An unmaintained finish will eventually start to wear unevenly, which can make the wood look unsightly. Conversely, naturally weathered acacia wood retains its characteristic appearance without the need for regular painting.

Yes, all our products can be ordered with installation included. When you place your order, we will also provide you with an estimated installation date.

We recommend planning the preparation of concrete foundations well in advance to ensure proper anchoring of the products and to allow the concrete to cure sufficiently before our installation team arrives. Please prepare the foundations according to the "Installation Drawing", which you can download from our website or obtain from our sales representatives.
